TAUNTON - Superintendent John Cabral is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Ashley as Director of Technology for the district. Ms. Ashley started on January 2, 2024.
As Director of Technology, Ms. Ashley will oversee all technology-related issues in the district, including creating and implementing innovative technological advancements to best support student learning and staff performance.
Ms. Ashley joins Taunton Public Schools from the Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District where she served as the Director of Instructional Technology and Infrastructure for two years. Before that, Ms. Ashley worked in the Somerset and Somerset Berkley Regional School Districts for 15 years in various capacities, including leadership positions at the Somerset Berkley Regional High School and instructional po
“Jennifer brings enthusiasm for both education and technology to Taunton Public Schools,” said Superintendent Cabral. “We’re delighted to welcome her and eagerly look forward to witnessing her put her enthusiasm and vision into action.”
Ms. Ashley brings grant writing experience to the position, having written and received several grants including a MassCUE Classroom grant and Project Lead the Way grant. Ms. Ashley is also passionate about equitable access to technology and believes strongly in the transformative power of technology for students through personalized learning.
Ms. Ashley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology from Bridgewater State University and her Master of Education with a Curriculum and Instructional Technology concentration from Framingham State University.
As a devoted parent raising two children and a dedicated lifelong educator, Ms. Ashley recognizes the significance of a high standard of public education and actively contributes as a valued member of the Somerset School Committee. Beyond her professional and civic responsibilities, she wholeheartedly treasures moments spent with her family during her free time.
