TAUNTON—Superintendent John J. Cabral is pleased to announce the appointment of Paula Magnasco, BA, MSN, RN, as the new Nurse Manager for Taunton Public Schools, effective July 1. Magnasco, who has over two decades of experience in healthcare and nursing, brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the district.
Magnasco's distinguished career includes extensive experience in pediatrics, behavioral health, emergency medicine, and more. Her journey in school nursing began over a decade ago when she was recruited as a one-to-one nurse for a medically complex student while working part-time as a life science nurse researcher. This role sparked her passion for school nursing, leading her to pursue a specialized career in this field.
"Ms. Magnasco’s extensive background in various healthcare settings, combined with her passion for school nursing, made her an outstanding choice for this position," said Superintendent Cabral. "We are excited to welcome her to our team and are confident that she will maintain the exceptional quality of health services across our schools."
Magnasco graduated with high honors from Western Governors University with a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management. She also earned a Nursing Associate in Science with honors from Massasoit Community College and a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Bridgewater State College, majoring in Communication and English with minors in Health and Business Management and Art.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Magnasco played a pivotal role as the District School Nurse Manager Coordinator of School Nursing at Middleborough Public School. She supervised and supported the nursing staff, ensuring the implementation of safety protocols, managing health crises, and providing essential health services under unprecedented circumstances. Her leadership was instrumental in maintaining the health and safety of students and staff during this challenging period.

Magnasco enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her husband, son, and daughter. She also enjoys long walks with the family pug named Minnie.
